11th Holiday BUZZar Brings Community Together at SRP Park for Free Family Event
SRP Park is home to the GreenJackets Minor League Baseball team. The team’s marketing director Catie Graf told milb.com, “Auggie’s Holiday BUZZar has always been a fun community event every year.”
From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the baseball park felt like a big neighborhood party filled with families and dogs exploring the market atmosphere. People cheered on participants running the Hot Chocolate 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk hosted by Fleet Feet of Augusta. Delicious cups of hot chocolate awaited those who crossed the finish line.
The free programming included local school dance and choir performances of classic holiday songs, an ugly Christmas sweater contest, and photo ops with Santa. Many visitors stopped by to donate presents at the Toys for Tots collection spot. Each donation entered guests into enticing prize giveaways.
“Everybody’s happy, and there’s a lot of joy, cute babies, and fun dogs everywhere. So, it’s fun to see everybody here,” said Sarah Smith, owner of the Southern Oyster Company, to WDRW-TV.
As winter rolls on, this memorable December celebration fits nicely between North Augusta’s other yearly events – from October’s Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee to summer’s 4th of July celebration.
