GOOD VIBES: Couple Cancels Wedding Reception Due To COVID, Donates Entire Buffet To Shelter
Like many couples in 2020, Melanie and Tyler Tapajna’s wedding plans have been derailed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although they were able to officially tie the knot, they were forced to cancel the reception.
Since they had already paid their caterer, Melanie & Tyler decided to donate all of the food–a full menu, including fried chicken, vegetables & wedding cake–to a local women’s shelter.
The couple’s generosity didn’t stop there–they also served the food to the shelter’s guests.
In a post on their Facebook page, The City Mission shelter said, “We pray this amazing couple is blessed immensely in their marriage, and thank them for inviting our guests to their wedding feast.”
Melanie & Tyler’s act of kindness fed over 130 women and children at the shelter.
My heart goes out to every couple whose wedding has been affected by this pandemic. So much time, planning, money (and stress!) go into a wedding, and it’s sad to have those plans derailed.
