Kanye Slams J. Cole And Drake In New Interview
Kanye’s diss track is not the only way the veteran rapper is getting his point across about how he feels about J. Cole and Drake. In a new interview, Kanye slams J. Cole and Drake, their feud with other rappers and criticizes their musical talent.
Kanye Slams J. Cole And Drake After Diss Track Release
In a conversation with Justin Laboy’s The Download podcast, Ye called Cole a “p—-” for apologizing to Kendrick Lamar after the Compton native dissed both Drake and J. Cole on “Like That” last month. Laboy asked if apologies are allowed in rap beefs and Ye responded, “I don’t listen to J. Cole so I wouldn’t even know. I just heard he had a song called ‘False Idols’ [sic] and somebody told me it’s halfway about me.” Ye is referring to Cole’s 2016 hit “False Prophets.”
“He’s fallin’ apart, but we deny it/ Justifying that half a– s— he dropped, we always buy it/ When he tell us he a genius but it’s clearer lately/ It’s been hard for him to look into the mirror lately,” Cole rapped on the record, seemingly speaking on Ye.
He continued: “There was a time when this n—-was my hero, maybe/ That’s the reason why his fall from grace is hard to take/ ‘Cause I believed him when he said his s— was purer and he/ The type of n—- swear he real but all around him’s fake.”
In addition to this interview, Ye also released a diss track, which was the remix to Kendrick’s “Like That.”
“You know we had to get the hooligans up here to get these p—-n——out/ Yo Dot, I got you,” Ye raps.
Ye then calls out Cole and Drake by name. “Y’all so out of sight, out of mind/ I can’t even think of a Drake line/ Play J. Cole, get the p—- dry/ Play this s— back 130 times.”
Cole and Drake have not responded to Ye’s remix at this time.
Ye also inserted himself in the “big three” conversation when he said he “washed” Drake and Kendrick last month.
“EVERYONE KNOWS I WASHED KENDRICK ON NO MORE PARTIES IN LA,” he began of he and Kendrick’s 2016 hit before coming for he and Drake’s joint benefit concert in 2021. “EVERYONE KNOWS I WASHED DRAKE AT THE FREE HOOVER CONCERT/ EVERYONE KNOWS I BROUGHT ADIDAS INTO THIS CULTURE AND, I TOOK THEM OUT/ EVERYONE KNOWS LOTTA DEMNA VIRGIL JERRY KIM ALL WORKED FOR ME.”
He continued: “I MADE YEEZUS DARK FANTASY PABLO/ GRADUATION THRONE 808S/ I MADE RUNAWAY DEVIL IN A NEW DRESS FATHER STRETCH/ I AM THE ONLY PERSON TO COME BACK TO NUMBER ONE AFTER CANCELLATION.
“THERE IS ONLY ONE GOAT/ I STAND BY ME/ MY FRIENDS CALL ME YE :),” he concluded in the since-deleted Instagram post per HipHopDX.
