How To Turn That Bad Day Around
These tips come from Girls On The Run, and I chose them because I’ve used many of them myself, and they’ve definitely worked for me. Hope they’ll do the same for you.
Play your favorite music (or make a specific playlist) – I wholeheartedly agree with this one. Music can totally lift and change your mood. And I love the playlist idea. I have a couple specifically for this reason. One that’s named “Feel Good Favs,” and a few others of my favorite K-Pop group BTS, who always cheer me up.
Spend some time in nature – Girls on the Run says, “The beauty and majesty of the natural world is for us all. On bad days, it’s easy to look past it. Engage with nature and remember just how vast the world is around you.” I definitely co-sign this one. Sitting among the trees, listening to the ocean or a stream, enjoying some fresh air. All ways to help make you feel better.
Embrace the coziness in life – I love this! I’m a big fan of cozy things. They say, “When things feel hard, increase the soft. Coziness is a major player in the world of self-care, and on bad days, self-care is a game-changer. ”
A Bad Day And Mental Health
I think it’s important to point out that there’s having a bad day, and then there are issues related to mental health, like depression. There’s a difference.
According to the CDC, “Depression is more than just feeling down or having a bad day. When a sad mood lasts for a long time and interferes with normal, everyday functioning, you may be depressed.” You can learn more about the symptoms of depression, as well as causes and treatments HERE.
Here’s wishing you a great day, and hoping that today isn’t one of your 4 bad days a month.
