21 Savage Says Drake Wasn’t Trying To Diss Megan Thee Stallion On ‘Circo Loco’
21 Savage is clearing up some negativity aimed at Drake over his Megan Thee Stallion line in “Circo Loco.” In a new interview with Rolling Stone, 21 spoke up about Drake’s line that brought up the 2020 shooting involving Lanez. At the time, Megan herself was also frustrated at the lyric, which 21 claimed was not Drizzy’s goal.
“This bitch lie about getting shots, but she still a stallion/ She don’t even get the joke, but she still smiling,” Drake raps on “Circo Loco.”
“I don’t feel like that was his intention [to diss Megan],” 21 told the publication. “Remember when I said I was telling him not to hold back, people tried to twist that to make it seem like I was talking about that situation.”
21 added that the line was supposed to be a “joke bar” and not aimed to “say something about her.” Megan has not responded to 21’s explanation for the bar, nor has Drake spoken about it since the song dropped.
Megan Thee Stallion Responds To Drake’s “Circo Loco” Bar About Her
While 21 debunked that Drake was trying to come for Megan, she did not take the bar well.
“Stop using my shooting for clout bitch a– n—-!” she wrote at the time. “Since when the f— is it cool to joke [about] women getting shot! You n—– especially RAP N—– ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a Black woman when she [says] one of y’all homeboys abused her.”
Another incident came up with Megan and Drake when fans believed the For All Then Dogs rapper threw shade on his tour.
“I gotta give a shoutout to somebody in here that’s been with me since the beginning of my career. Her name is Megan.” Drake says in the fan-captured video.
He continued: “She’s been there with me since day one, like, real s—… Real H-Town legend. Shoutout to Meg.” After a slight pause, he clarified his statement, “Not that Meg, this Meg.”
Megan Thee Stallion is also from Houston, TX. Despite possibly differentiating between the two Megan’s, social media was split 50/50 on whether Drake was throwing shade or simply letting his fans know that he was not referring to the famous rapper from Houston but his photographer friend.
“His obsession with Megan thee stallion needs to be studied asap,”one fan wrote.
“Drake’s keeping it real with his shoutouts, gotta make sure we know which Meg he’s talking about,” another fan chimed in.
