A few months ago I wrote about a grave in Aiken County. And now, let’s talk about the Little Boy’s Grave in Graniteville At Christmas! This story was bigger than I ever dreamed. So I went back to the grave a few days ago.
At Christmas time, it seems that the story of the little boy gets bigger. I was shocked at the number of toys that were on his grave. As it gets closer to Christmas, this grave gets covered up with more toys.
I’m not sure, but I’ve heard these toys are given away to kids in need at Christmas. So, if you find the time, go see The Little Boys Grave In Graniteville At Christmas. Sounds odd to get an invite to see a grave at Christmas, but it will bring joy to your heart!

The Story
This story started in October of 1855 when a little boy, traveling alone on a train through Graniteville, arrived unconscious. He was believed to be around 12 years old. He was taken by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Senn, owners of the Graniteville Hotel, to the former location of the old Lavelle McCampbell Middle School. There, they attempted to nurse him back to health! But, the boy died before anyone could find his name or any family members.
Then, he was buried in the Graniteville Cemetery. And his headstone just reads, “The Little Boy” with a death date of October 1855. Soon, people started leaving toys on the grave to honor him. And this tradition continues today. But, the story doesn’t end there. Not long after his burial, rumors are the ghost of the little boy’ has been seen playing with the toys left there on his grave.
