Britney Spears’ Black Lives Matter Post Causes Divide With Fans
Britney Spears’ recent Instagram post backing Black Lives Matter is causing a divide with her fans, with some believing that it’s proof she’s being “controlled.”
Spears shared an image on her feed of a black bus passenger holding up a sign that read: “White people have generational wealth. Black people have generational trauma. #WeAreNotTheSame.” She wrote in her caption: “Just sayin’ 🗣🗣🗣 !!!! #BlackLivesMatter #BLM.”
Her nearly 30 million followers on Instagram saw the post on Monday, the day jury deliberations started over the ex-cop charged with George Floyd’s murder.
Some fans were excited to see the pop star weighing in, with one commenting under the post: “We looooove woke Britney yaaas.”
Another wrote: “Hey fellow white people: our generational childhood trauma is not the same thing as generational racist trauma. Get it together and educate yourselves!”
Another fan in support wrote: “So important to use your platform to speak on this Britney!!!!! It’s time redistribute our wealth and pay reparations NOW”
However, there was a lot of negative feedback, with many people bringing up generational wealth to Spears, with one person writing: “Still waiting to inherit all this magical generational wealth. If I don’t go to work, I don’t eat.”
Another upset user wrote: “Where? I know for a fact I ain’t getting nothing from my parents.”
Others thought this post, like many of her others, wasn’t posted by Spears and is another example of how she is being “controlled”: “If ppl didn’t believe you were being controlled, they sure do now…”
Another fan didn’t believe it either, writing: “Britney didn’t post this y’all.”
