More Flights Are Coming To Augusta For Masters Week
There are more flights coming into Augusta for Masters Week this year. Of course, more planes come into town that week than any other week of the year. However, up until now there were only a few direct routes into Augusta during tournament week. Well the folks at Delta Airlines are changing that up for 2024.
What Are The New Routes?
According to an article on Golf.com, Delta is bringing in six brand new routes to Augusta from a series of airports around the country. Those airports will include Washington DC, Boston, Austin, New York-JFK, Palm Beach and Orlando. This will triple the number of available direct destinations from three to nine. Meaning you won’t have to connect in Atlanta or Charlotte.
Up until now, there weren’t a ton of options for getting to Augusta for tournament week. You could fly into Atlanta and then drive to Augusta. Another option was flying private, but let’s be honest, thats not really an option for the majority of us. And of course there’s driving, which is fine, but if you live a long distance away, that can be time consuming.
For me, it doesn’t matter how people get here, I just love that they’re here. Masters Week is my favorite week of the year. I love all of the excitement in town. Of course now with the addition of The Augusta National Women’s Amatuer and The Drive Chip and Putt National Finals, it’s more like a week and a half of excitement.
During that week, the eyes of the world are on Augusta, Georgia. We have one of the biggest events in sports in our town. And unlike the three other majors in golf, The Masters happens in the same place every year. For me, as soon as Christmas is over, I start counting down to my second Christmas, Masters Week!
