Gunna is trying to put these “snitch” allegations to rest. In a new snippet shared online, the Georgia rapper seemingly addresses the situation. “He forgave me for my sins now they mad I got out,” he raps on an unreleased track.
People online have been calling Gunna a “snitch” and “rat” since he was released from jail in December. Most recently, fellow rapper Lil Durk came for the “Banking On Me” emcee.
“I don’t sit up here and play games,” he said while speaking to gossip blogger DJ Akademiks. “That man told. You should have went in there and kept your mouth closed.”
“If you rewind the clip a little bit, I looked into the camera and I told you, if you a rat, I f—— hate you,” Durk added. “Because I love Thug.”
Gunna has said that he has not snitched to get out of jail. The Atlanta rapper published a statement after his December 2022 release. “I have chosen to end my own RICO case with an Alford plea and end my personal ordeal by publicly acknowledging my association with YSL,” the rapper said in a written statement provided to ABC News back in December by his attorney Steve Sadow. “An Alford plea in my case is the entry of a guilty plea to the one charge against me, which is in my best interest, while at the same time maintaining my innocence toward the same charge.”
Gunna’s legal team has also backed up his claim. “Gunna has never been interviewed by or cooperated with law enforcement or prosecutors in the RICO case. Nor have his attorneys proffered information on his behalf,” journalist Jewel Wicker tweeted last month. “What was said at his Alford plea hearing was solely to resolve his own case. It cannot be used by the prosecution against Young Thug or any other defendant.”
Young Thug’s sister, Dolly White, also defended Gunna.
“Can y’all please stop saying then people write it and this and that? It’s not making anybody better or nothing good,” she said. “Nothing that’s going on is helping my brother. So can y’all please stop that. If y’all love Gunna, then y’all give him support. Why the f— y’all over there y’all tripping. It be the internet for me.”
