Easiest Chicken Tacos EVER!
Easy Chicken Tacos! This “recipe” came about honestly due to being lazy!
Easy-Peasy Chicken Tacos!
I had some chicken breasts that I was intending to sauté and season for chicken tacos. Honestly, I didn’t want to put in that much effort! That’s dicing up a bunch of chicken to cook in a skillet. I like simple!
So I had the bright idea to take my chicken breast (I used 3 1/2 for this), put them in the crockpot with a stick of butter (I’m from the south, don’t judge! I didn’t want the chicken to dry out) and the packet of Chicken Taco Seasoning mix!
THREE ingredients.
I turned the crockpot on low for 6 hours and left it. Once it was done, the chicken shredded SO easily and it was ready to go. Just grab some tortillas (I like the ones for street tacos) and whatever toppings and BOOM! Dinner!
I’m pretty picky, so I just topped mine with cheese and some hot sauce.
I’m not proud of my “lazy” way of coming up with this– but it works! I’ve had these about 3 times since I first made this discovery.
Ingredients:
- 3-4 Chicken Breasts
- A stick of butter (you can use something else- chicken broth, a little water, olive oil- the chicken does produce some liquid during cooking as well)
- Chicken Taco Seasoning Packet
- Taco Toppings
- Tortillas
When I made them this past weekend, I realized I forgot my seasoning packet!
Make Your Own Seasoning!
Instead of running out to the store, I made my own with the seasonings I had:
- Paprika
- Chili Powder
- Garlic
- Onion
- Cayenne Pepper
- Salt and Pepper
I didn’t measure any of these out– but I was pretty generous with most of the ingredients and it turned out great!
I love easy recipes, and my crockpot is my best friend in the kitchen! I’d love to hear your favorite recipes- let us know on Facebook!
