Hip-Hop duo Rae Sremmurd's stepfather who raised the brothers since they were young is dead after being fatally shot in Mississippi, as TMZ reports. Law enforcement currently has Rae Sremmurd's younger brother in custody. According to Tupelo Police Department, the police were dispatched on Monday night (Jan. 6) to a home where law enforcement officers found a man who had died on the scene from at least a few gunshot wounds. Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi's younger brother, Michael Sullivan, 19, is also being held for psychiatric evaluation and is a person of interest in the shooting.

At this point, they're calling the 19-year-old a person of interest in the shooting. Rae Sremmurd's stepfather, Floyd Sullivan was 62-years-old during his time of death. Outside of Michael Sullivan, no else is being pursued in the murder. It's currently unclear how much information Rae Sremmurd has regarding the murder.

Lee and Jxmmi haven't directly spoken about their stepfather's murder. However, on Monday  Lee shared a photo of himself on his Instagram story wearing a shirt that read, "Resist Hate". Lee placed a broken heart emoji over the photo of himself that he shared. Slim Jxmmi also took to his Instagram story to get a few words off of his chest. "I'll never sell my soul or turn my back on my fam. I don't got friends, just family x associates," he wrote before sharing a video himself dancing with a young woman around a few yachts.
