Soon, there will be some smoking on Broad Street! This new restaurant in downtown Augusta is Bradley’s Barbecue and is set to open this summer after renovations are complete. The location is well known. It’s the old Sunshine Bakery building.
Barbecue With A Bar
Fat Man’s Hospitality Group is behind this new concept restaurant. Think great barbecue in a historic building and, like the other Fat Man’s restaurants in town, you can expect something a little different. This one will have a full bar, too.
Brad and Havird Usry, owners of Fat Man’s Hospitality Group, show respect for this historic building, even down to the signage Augusta Historic Preservation recently approved.
Bringing A Historic Building Back To Life
Fat Man’s Hospitality partner Havird Usry added, “Buying the Sunshine building for our new concept is a great fit for us. Our history is family business, and preserving some history of other family businesses is right in our wheelhouse. We are doing it with SnoCap and Fat Man’s and look forward to bringing the Sunshine Building back to life. Now we have to get to work.”
As Havird mentioned, the other Fat Man restaurants in the Augusta-North Augusta area include the historic SnoCap in North Augusta, The Southern Salad downtown, and Fat Man’s at Enterprise Mill, along with all their restaurants offering catering. Now, they have added Bradleys Barbecue as their newest restaurant in downtown Augusta.
Foodies Rejoice!
Bradley’s Barbecue joins about 43 other restaurants in downtown Augusta, quickly becoming a foodie’s favorite place for lunch and a night out. We’ll update you as we hear more about Bradley’s opening.
Eat Local
It will be nice to see the Sunshine building full of life again, doing what it has always done. Serving good food with excellent service from local owners who love Augusta. Congrats to the Usrys as they add another wonderful eatery to their already fantastic line-up of Augusta’s favorite restaurants.
