Delta Stepping Up Direct Flights to Augusta Once Again For Masters Week
Delta Air Lines is adding direct flights to Augusta for this year’s Masters Tournament. The added routes include daily flights from major hubs like Minneapolis-St. Paul, Detroit, and Boston. This represents the largest flight schedule change ever for golf’s first major championship of the year.
Fans can book one of the additional 1,900 daily seats, which marks a 15 percent increase in capacity. From April 9 through April 13, 2025, travelers from 215 cities can fly to Augusta Regional Airport with no more than a single layover.
“With new service from Minneapolis and White Plains, and increased frequency from LaGuardia, we’re making it easier than ever to connect to this world-renowned event,” Joe Esposito, Delta’s SVP for network programming, said in a news release.
One daily direct flight will take off from airports including Westchester, Washington D.C.-Reagan, Austin, and New York-Kennedy. Delta is also increasing service between Augusta and major hubs like Atlanta, with eight daily flights, and New York-LaGuardia, where passengers will have access to two daily direct flights.
This allows more fans to fly straight into Augusta instead of making the 2.5-hour drive from Atlanta to watch the tournament. These direct routes eliminate hassle for thousands heading to golf’s springtime tradition. The tournament draws fans from over 100 countries during its five-day run at Augusta National. These new flights should make travel easier for both domestic and international visitors.
Local businesses anticipate more visitors, too, now that getting to Augusta is less challenging. The shorter travel time means fans can spend more time at the course and local businesses instead of in transit.
Following last year’s positive response, Delta continues expanding options for tournament-goers. The airline has spent years improving their Masters week service as the event continues to grow. Beyond just adding routes, Delta has enhanced its entire presence at Augusta’s airport. This fits into their broader strategy of supporting major sporting events.
