Chick-fil-A Is Changing Things Up A Bit
Big changes At Chick-fil-A could change how restaurant owners are doing business. Next week Chick-fil-A is opening a “Grab N Go” location in New York. It’s their first-ever mobile pickup restaurant.
Just How Does The New “Grab N Go” Concept Work?
You place an order on the App or online. Just like mobile pick up now, when you get close to the restaurant, they start your order. Then it’s ready for pick up. The difference here will be when you walk in you’ll see it’s a much smaller building. There will be no ordering inside, no menu boards, or sitting area. You will a screen that has your order on it and it will tell you where your order falls in line for pickup. Once your order is ready, you are out the door with your food. The Today Show got a sneak peek at the concept.

Not Everyone Is Happy About Changes At Chick-fil-A
If this concept takes off, could this mean jobs are going to be cut? Will fewer people be needed to run the restaurant? McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and many others have tried this with the Kiosk ordering menus, and in some cases, it does save time and you control your order a little more.
People took to TikTok over the past few days to share their feelings on this and what it means for the future of not just the restaurant industry but service industries in general.

Good or bad, it’s still yet to be determined. Chick-fil-A has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to the fast food business. I’m sure that not being able to find enough help in the workforce today has led to some of these changes.
Chick-fil-A will also be trying another new concept later this year called the elevated drive-thru. This will be at the Chick-fil-A 79th & 2nd in New York and will be focusing solely on delivery and mobile app ordering for a quick and easy pickup experience. Big changes at Chick-fil-A are nothing new and I’m sure we’ll be seeing more and more restaurants going in this direction.
