Exit 11 In Graniteville Is Growing Again
Big news if you live near or travel exit 11 off I-20. There’s more growth in Graniteville. If your daily commute takes you up Bettis Academy Road in any way, you will want to know about this work. Construction means more growth. It’s a new place to get coffee and the best curly fries ever.
Plans have been filed with Aiken County for a new Starbucks and Arby’s to build at Exit 11. The plans are set for these two new additions to be right beside the Quick Trip Truck Stop and Convenience store. The QT opened in August of 2022. With the growth of traffic, we see daily on I-20. The Bridgestone traffic with the growth of new homes in the area, makes these much-welcomed additions to the exit.
The Growth At Exit 11 Is getting wild.
Just in the past few years, we’ve seen the addition of some great businesses:
- Quick Trip
- Bojangles
- Sprint Food Store
- Dollar Tree
- Grass Roots Yard Supply
The new Starbucks is expected to be 2,500 square-foot building with a drive-thru and 25 parking spots. The new Arby’s will be around 2,000 square feet, and have a drive-thru and 28 parking spots.
In other work at Exit 11, the remodeled Pilot Truck Stop and Convenience store and the Subway have been big improvements. On the other side of the interstate at Bettis Academy Road, The Huddle House is being remodeled into a Krystal. Also, those of us who live in the area are hearing that the old Burger King is soon to become a Cookout!
If you continue down Bettis Academy Road towards Ascauga Lake Road right beside The Dollar General construction has begun on a new plaza. The plans for this include a laundry mat and a Mexican restaurant. A few other stores are to be named later. I live off Bettis Academy Road and I welcome the growth and all these business additions. The one thing that I would like to see is a grocery store close by. I’m not sure that we’ll see that anytime soon but one can hope. Growth is happening at Exit 5 also, see that here!
There was a time when there was not much at Exit 11. But we’re excited for more growth in Graniteville. It’s good news for Exit 11.
