The folks at WalletHub have come out with their annual list of “fun cities”. Augusta is on the list.
First, let’s take a moment to see how WalletHub came to their conclusions. Fun Cities – Augusta
Ok, how did we do? How did some of the cities in our region do?
There are 180 cities in the survey, Augusta…finished 126th. We’re more fun than Little Rock, Arkansas. But not quite as fun as Fort Wayne, Indiana.
As one who has lived here for more than 40 years, I would love to see the breakdown. What made us “fun”? What hurts us when it comes to fun?
Whenever there’s a list like this, I always wonder where Austin, Texas falls. You know they’re on the list. They’re ALWAYS on the list. They were on this one, coming in 7th.
Charleston, South Carolina was 29th on the list. For my money, one of the TOP 5 cities in the country.
Then, Chattanooga, Tennessee was 46th on the list. I haven’t spent much time in Chattanooga, but downtown is wonderful.
Charlotte is 51st on the list. Another one of those growing Southern urban cities that just seems to get better and better.
Columbia, SC came in 61st on the list.
Do you care who was at the bottom of the list? Well, the “least fun” cities in the Country are Oxnard, California, South Burlington, Vermont and Pearl City, Hawaii.
