Watch A Christmas Movie On The SRP Baseball Field This Holiday Season
The Dugout Movie Theater Experience at SRP is back! This time for the holiday season. A few months ago a similar event was held at SRP Park for the Halloween season.
The Halloween movie showing was The Haunted Mansion.
For this movie night, the movie of choice will be National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – the 1989 version. The movie runs for about 1 hour and 37 minutes. Just enough for you to not get too tired.
The event will be held on December 12. The movie will start at 6:45 pm. Gates will open at 5:45 pm because the movie is just half of what will be going on at the park.
There will be different activities happening as soon as the gate opens. Also, Santa and Auggie Claus will make a special appearance.
No outside food or beverage will be available but concessions will be sold at the event! Here are a few of the items that will be sold:
- Hot Chocolate
- Coca-Cola beverages
- Draft beer options
- Hotdogs and more!
Here are the ticket packages:
- $6 per Person General Admission Seating (Field & Seating Bowl)
- $20 General Admissions with Unlimited Popcorn and Coca-Cola Beverages
- $40 Family 4-Pack: 4 Tickets, 4 Boxes of Fresh Popcorn and 4 Coca-Cola Beverages
- Children 3 and under are FREE
The best ways to enjoy the movie is in the Dugout Theatre at SRP Park:
Moviegoers are encouraged to not bring chairs, but instead to bring blankets and/or pillows. Chairs will not be permitted on the field to ensure the longevity and quality of the baseball field.
Bugs will be out, but be sure to spray your bug spray before going on to the field. Bug spray will not be allowed on the field because the chemicals can damage the grass.
If you have any more questions, check their site here.
With the fall weather picking up and the temperatures surely dropping, this is one of the last outdoor movies that will take place for the rest of the 2023 year.
All the New Hallmark Christmas Movies for this Year
It’s never too early to plan your Christmas viewing schedule! With that in mind, The Hallmark Channel is already getting into the Christmas spirit, with a new Christmas movie dropping every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8 pm ET. Watch the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and its streaming service Hallmark Movies Now. On the weekend of October 20, Hallmark kicked off their “Countdown to Christmas” with Checkin’ it Twice, Where Are You, Christmas?, and Under the Christmas Sky. On the weekend of October 26, the channel debuts Ms. Christmas Comes to Town, Christmas By Design, and Mystic Christmas.
Some of the actors and actresses who will be featured in the films include Kevin McGarry, Kim Matula, Lyndsy Fonseca, Michael Rady, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Ryan Paevey, Rebecca Dalton, Jonathan Keltz, Jessy Schram, Chandler Massey, Jaicy Elliot and Brant Daugherty, among many others.
Hallmark has made an industry of sorts out of holiday movies and most of them get re-aired every year. Per Vox, the 2006 film The Christmas Card, made Hallmark realize that it could focus on Christmas programming in November and December. And that film has continued to air every holiday season since its debut.
Appropriate for a channel that was started by a greeting card company, Hallmark does very well with seasonal programming. But apparently, they work on Christmas programming all year round. The Vox feature reports that they shoot Christmas movies even in the summer. Of course, they have to put effort into making it always look like Christmas. But it’s surely worth it to come up with tons of Christmas content.
Take a look below at the full schedule. And for more information about every new movie, head to their “Countdown to Christmas” site.
