Over 140 Richmond County Students Receive National Recognition For College Board Assessments
Over 140 Richmond County School System Students have been nationally recognized for their above average scores on various college board assessments.
Those College Board assessments include tests like the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and AP® exam.
Here is a breakdown of what the students were recognized for throughout the county:
- There were 103 students recognized as AP Scholars for outstanding AP exam scores and GPAs.
- Out of those 103 students 11 of them were named AP Scholars with Honor.
- 23 of those students were named AP Scholars with Distinction.
- 41 students received national recognitions for rural area, Black, Indigenous, and/or Latino students with exceptional scores on one or more College Board assessment including the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and AP® exam and a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Here is a list of Schools that were included throughout the county, that received national recognition from the College Board:
- The Academy of Richmond County
- A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet
- Cross Creek Comprehensive High School
- George P. Butler Comprehensive High School
- Glenn Hills Comprehensive High School
- John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School
- Lucy C. Laney Comprehensive High School
- Westside High School
This is not the first recognition that Richmond County School System has received this year. John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School and A.R. Johnson, both high schools that are apart of this list, were each recognized as being ranked in the top 50 list of best public high schools in Georgia.
Davidson Fine Arts came in at number 3 in the top 50 amongst the state of Georgia. The school also ranked in the top 200 schools in the United States coming in at number 174.
A.R. Johnson Magnet School came in at number 24 in the ranking of best public high schools.
This was determined by the best high schools methodology. That methodology included college readiness, state assessment proficiency, and more.
