Flashback Friday: Furby Returns
That’s right… the Furby returns! For the first time in seven years, Hasbro is bringing back the Furby in honor of the 25th anniversary of the original! Side note: Has it really been 25 years since the original came out?!
The Furby is actually already available on Amazon for $70. It will also arrive at most major retailers next month.
This is the first time it will be available since 2016. The new version of the Furby comes with “five voice-activated modes.” From the Amazon description, the voice-modes are: Dance Party, Copycat, Tell My Fortune, Let’s Chill, and Light Show.
In addition, the Furby will have over 600 responses. Not only that, but the new Furby can also interact with other Furbys… perhaps to encourage you to buy more than just one?
Furby will respond to “hugs, pats, belly tickles, and shaking.”
FURBY-MANIA first started back in 1998 with the launch of the Furby. In the first 3 years, over 40 million Furbys were sold globally.

Honestly, I never had a Furby! Although I feel like I wanted one. But at the same time… I had a few friends that had them, and they were a little creepy. And now that Furby returns… I’d be even more creeped out. With the way technology has advanced since 1998, I can only imagine these new ones are going to be more responsive and “smart.”
The description on Amazon calls this an “incredibly interactive toy”, It moves, talks, sings, lights up, and responds to speech. It’s noted multiple times that the Furby does not connect to the internet.
But, from the picture, they are adorable little creatures.

I thought people were joking about this. Because seriously, how could this tiny handheld roller be better than a vacuum? But whoever put their magic into this product is a genius because trust me it works beautifully. In my household, we have three cats and a dog. All of which shed like nobody’s business. I bought these on a whim because I wanted to be cool like the people on TikTok (yes, that’s dumb I agree), but the reality is these things are incredible. I’ve used both the Scrub Daddy and the Scrub Mommy sponges for over six months now and I have no desire to go back to what we used before. Not only do I feel like they clean the dishes better, but they have so many cool features that help you clean hard-to-reach things. Like the mouth is perfect for scrubbing spoons. And the eye holes are great so if you want to get down in the bottom of the cup you have an easy way to pull the sponge out.
I’ve also really loved using the color-coded system for our home too. This 3-pack of Scrub Daddy colors is the first pack I ever bought. I designated the blue sponge for dishes, the orange sponge for kitchen appliances, and the green sponge for the bathroom. And yes, it works wonderfully on all of those surfaces!
