Grovetown Elementary Principal Issues Reminder About Items Not Allowed at School
A fifth grade student at Grovetown Elementary School will be disciplined for bringing a toy gun to school today.
Principal Valerie Allen sent a letter to parents explaining that the student was playing with a small, plastic, airsoft-type toy gun in class this morning. Administrators were notified and the student and toy were removed from the classroom. Officials say there was no direct threat made to the school, students or staff. The student will be held accountable according to the Code of Conduct.
Allen said, “This letter is not intended to alarm, but encourage our parents to speak with your children about the seriousness of bringing these kinds of toys to school. Students should ask a parent or staff member before bringing anything to school they are not sure about.”
