Chris Rock is Coming To Georgia
It’s a name we’ve all heard a LOT this week: Chris Rock. And he will actually be coming to Georgia later this year. Think he’ll talk about the incident?
The infamous slap at the Oscars from Will Smith has to be one of the most talked about stories all week. “The slap heard around the world.” Definitely a moment that will live on forever, whether the two involved want it to or not. And while Will Smith has reportedly apologized to Chris Rock for hitting him, there hasn’t been much from Rock himself. Although, it does seem Chris Rock may owe a “thank you” to Will Smith.
Because of the extremely public incident, the two stars have both had many mentions in media. But the timing could not have been better for Chris Rock, who kicks off his Ego Death World tour in Boston tonight (3/30).
That’s right. Because of his encounter with Will Smith, it appears ticket sales for this new tour have skyrocketed. Talk about easy publicity! Why spend money to market, when you can just get another celeb to slap you?
We sold more tickets to see Chris Rock overnight than we did in the past month combined.

The public relations rep for TickPick, Kyle Zorn, says the cheapest tickets for Rock’s Ego Death World Tour went from just $46 to $411 by Monday (the day after the incident). And now, some seats are going for more than $1,200!

CBS News reports in the last week alone, 88% of the sales came after the Oscars on Sunday night. TickPick reported 51% of the entire tickets sold came after the incident.
And yes, Chris Rock’s Ego Death World Tour is coming to Georgia, but not until late July. His tour is coming to the Fox Theatre Atlanta on Friday, July 29th.
The tour will take the comedian all over the country: New York, Nevada, Maryland, North Carolina, Michigan, Washington State California and more. He even has a show in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
