5 Organizations to Support that Fight Hunger and Food Insecurity
Food — and usually an abundance of food — is a cornerstone of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, but many people across the country are struggling with hunger and food insecurity, right now, on a daily basis.
This Thanksgiving, consider making a donation to one of the five organizations below who help fight hunger and food insecurity year-round.
Feeding America
Feeding America is the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States and provides support to over 200 food banks.
Many are struggling to put food on the table right now. Send some uplifting words of encouragement to families facing tough times this Thanksgiving and remind them that we’re here for each other. 🧡 https://t.co/BzLwHch7wH pic.twitter.com/zSypx2pUrl

No Kid Hungry
No Kid Hungry is a campaign from Share Our Strength that provides meals year-round to schools for students experiencing food insecurity.
Meals on Wheels

Why Hunger
Why Hunger takes the issue of food insecurity a step further by addressing the issue and looking at it from a social justice standpoint. Per their website, “When we mistakenly define the problem as hunger itself, we limit the solution to food charity and distribution. But when we look at the deeper, root causes and define hunger as a symptom, we can see the problem clearly as social injustice. And that is where we can begin to find real solutions to the complex economic, social and environmental issues at the source.”
