LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 10: Singers Adele (L) and Beyonce attend the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards at STAPLES Center on February 10, 2013 in Los Angeles, California.

There is no doubt that both Beyoncé and Adele will go down as some of the best vocalists of well 6im4 but when a viral tweet crowned Adele as the better of the two, the Beyhive went to attack mode.

TheShadeRoom reposted a user’s tweet writing, “So my Bestfriend says adele will out sing Beyonce” which garnished hundreds of responses from Beyoncé fans.

Although fans of the two Grammy-winning artists will debate, it seems fair to say that they respect each other’s artistry. Famously during the 59th Grammy Awards, Adele won “Album Of The Year” for her album 25 over Beyonce’s Lemonade and the British singer honored Beyonce’s album in her acceptance speech, “I can’t possibly accept this award, and I’m very humbled and very grateful and gracious but my life is Beyoncé, and the album to me, the Lemonade album, Beyoncé, was so monumental, and so well thought out. And so beautiful and soul bearing and we all got to see another side of you that you don’t always let us see, and we appreciate that. And all us artists adore you. You are our light. And the way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my Black friends feel is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves. And I love you. I always have. And I always will. I appreciate it.”

Adele told Elle that when she received the trophy in the mail it was broken and decided to honor the Lemonade singer in a special way, “It got broken when it was getting sent to me,” she said, adding that she put a piece of fruit in the broken part of the trophy. “There’s a lemon in it.”
