  • Restaurant Burglary

    A MAN IS BEING SOUGHT FOR QUESTIONING IN A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT BURGLARY EARLY THIS MORNING.

    THE RICHMOND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THE BREAK-IN WAS REPORTED AT THE BURGER KING IN THE 34-HUNDRED BLOCK OF DEANS BRIDGE ROAD.

    SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS A BLACK MALE IN THE STORE WEARING A BLUE HOODED JACKET AND DARK PANTS.

    HE LEFT THE AREA ON FOOT.

    INVESTIGATORS SAY HE IS WANTED FOR QUESTIONING.

  • Richmond County Woman Dead

    A RICHMOND COUNTY WOMAN WAS FOUND DEAD IN HER HOME THIS MORNING.

    THE BODY OF 48 YEAR OLD NANCY PHILLIPS WAS FOUND OVERNIGHT ON LONDONBERRY LANE.

    INVESTIGATORS SAY PHILLIPS WAS MURDERED.

    SO FAR, THERE’S NO SUSPECT INFORMATION AND THE CAUSE OF HER DEATH HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED.

  • Deadly Motorcycle Accident

    THERE WAS A DEADLY ACCIDENT INVOLVING A MOTORCYCLE THIS MORNING.

    RICHMOND COUNTY CORONER MARK BOWEN HAS CONFIRMED ONE DEATH, BUT THE VICTIM’S NAME HASN’T BEEN RELEASED PENDING NOTIFICATION OF FAMILY MEMBERS.

    THE ACCIDENT WAS REPORTED AT 7:15 A.M. ON WRIGHTSBORO ROAD NEAR BELAIR ROAD.

  • Soldiers Being Discharged

    U.S. ARMY OFFICIALS ANNOUNCED WEDNESDAY THEY HAVE STARTED DISCHARGING SOLDIERS WHO REFUSE TO GET THE COVID-19 VACCINE.

    OFFICIALS SAY OVER 3,300 SERVICE MEMBERS HAVE BEEN ISSUED OFFICIAL WRITTEN REPRIMANDS FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE ARMY’S MANDATE.

    THE NAVY, MARINES AND AIR FORCE HAVE ALREADY DISCHARGED ACTIVE DUTY TROOPS OR ENRY LEVEL PERSONNEL AT BOOT CAMPS FOR REFUSING TO GET VACCINATED.

    ARMY OFFICIALS ISSUED A DIRECTIVE WEDNESDAY, ORDERING COMMANDERS TO BEGIN INVOLUNTARY SEPARATION PROCEEDINGS AGAINST THOSE WHO HAVE REFUSED THE SHOTS, OR DO NOT HAVE AN APPROVED EXEMPTION.

  • Traffic Delays

    EXPECT DELAYS IF YOU’RE ON FLOWING WELLS ROAD IN COLUMBIA COUNTY BEGINNING FRIDAY AND LASTING INTO NEXT WEEK.  CREWS WILL BE INSTALLING UTILITIES AT THE INTERSECTION OF FLOWING WELLS AND OLD ANDERSON ROADS STARTING FRIDAY AND CONTINUING NEXT MONDAY AND TUESDAY.

    CREWS WILL BE ON THE JOB BETWEEN 9:00 A.M. AND 3:00 P.M. ALL THREE DAYS, FORCING CLOSURE OF OLD ANDERSON ROAD DURING THOSE HOURS.  TRAFFIC OFFICIALS SAY DELAYS ARE UNAVOIDABLE AND URGE COMMUTERS TO TAKEN AN ALTERNATE ROUTE, IF POSSIBLE.
