Everyone’s definition of fun is going to be a little different. But, usually it involves some sort of entertainment and activities that brings you joy. And it’s always good when where you live has plenty of those things to keep you having fun all year round. Apparently, Georgia and South Carolina are among the top 20 most fun states in America!
Some states obviously have more opportunities for fun. Other states make fun a way of life! Some of these states have so many activities and entertainment, pretty much anyone, despite their idea of fun, can find something that brings them joy.
Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic halted, or at least limited, our ability to embrace recreation and activities for fun. But, with things opening back up, we have more options to get back to embracing the fun.
So what makes a state “fun”? WalletHub put in the work and compared the 50 states to find out which states are most fun. They looked at 26 different indicators to find entertainment and recreation that wouldn’t break the bank. This includes factors such as movie costs, accessibility to national parks, and casinos per capita.
To determine which are the most fun states, WalletHub took their 26 key indicators, and broke them into two main categories: Entertainment & Recreation and Nightlife.
For Entertainment & Recreation, WalletHub looked at things like number of attractions, ideal weather, restaurants per capita, amusement parks, golf courses and country clubs, movie theaters, and more.
When looking at Nightlife, which carried less weight in the overall score, they looked at average cost of beer and wine, movie cost, nightlife options, music festivals per capita, performing arts theaters and casinos.
Georgia and South Carolina did make it into the top 20 most fun states… but just barely! Georgia ranked at number 20, and South Carolina is only one rank better at number 19. You know, Georgia and South Carolina also rank in the top most sinful states too…
