This week on the OWLs Nest, RobbieLandis and Jake Lyon kick off the episode answering questions from the fans. Then it’s all about the new upcoming Overwatch League tournament the Summer Showdown.
The Fan Experience
This week’s episode starts off with a fan Q and A segment. Robbie and Jake put the call out on social media for any fans who wanted to be a part of the show. Anyone who had a specific question they wanted to answer. Or anyone who wanted to hear Jake and Robbie’s take on something current in the Overwatch scene. This isn’t the last time that fans will have a hand in helping make the show. If you want to submit a question of your own for future shows, make sure you’re following CheckpointXP, Robbie, and Jake on Twitter.
Summer Showdown
After the success and hype that the May Melee garnered, it’s no surprise that the Overwatch League is continuing with the Tournament format. The next month of the Overwatch League will be dubbed the Summer Showdown. It’ll follow the same path that the May Melee did with one big difference. Hero Pools are changing slightly. Instead of a new hero pool every week, there will be one pool for the first two weeks of qualifiers. For the third and final week of the qualifiers and for the tournament itself all heroes will be on the board.
Robbie and Jake also take a moment to discuss both the Los Angeles teams, the Valiant and Gladiators. Where are they currently in the standing and what does their future look like. Do they have what it takes to make play-offs and shoot for finals? If not, what do they need to change if they want to improve their chances?
