Rihanna Is A Big GloRilla Fan
At an event in Los Angeles promoting her new Savage X Fenty line at Nordstrom stores, Rihanna was asked who she would want to sing a Savage X Fenty theme song, if there was one.
“GloRilla,” she said. “To see a young lady who is still grounded in who she is and where she came from, I love that.” This news made its way to GloRilla, who reposed the clip on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Can’t nobody tell me s—.” See that NSFW post here.
One commenter named “Luh supper” joked, “Glorilla writing her verse right now for that song… what rhyme with Fenty again?” “Ms Madwoman” added “Young lady, the over 60s love your work. You remind us. We out here living through your music. Saying everything we wish we had said.” “Sauvingnon Black” commented, “You’re the internet’s favorite baby cousin.”
This isn’t the first time that Rihanna has shown love to GloRilla. In June, she posted a video showing herself dancing to GloRilla’s single “TGIF.” Watch the video here. She captioned the post “happy day.” The comments on the post included one from “Godblessed Me” that said, “Swear I’ve watched this like 1,000 times.” “Thaisssabs” speculated, “She’s proving that she misses singing.” “Rosenie Auguste” said “It’s nice to see celebrities act [like] normal people.”
Back in July, GloRilla shared a screenshot of a DM from Rihanna. Glo, 24, shared an Instagram carousel of images from her BET after party, soundtracked by “TGIF.” The final image was a DM from Rihanna, who said, “You got all summer sis! I know dis wild hypocritical, but when the album drop?”
It was a bit hypocritical coming from someone whose fans are begging for new music. One person commented: “Ri asking for an album is diabolical asf.” Added another fan, “i would have sent the reverse uno card to riri bc wdym [sobbing emojis].” A third commented, “ot RiRi with all the nerve [laughing emojis] that’s so cute! Proud of you BIG GLO [strong arm emoji].” Suggested another, “[laughing emojis] Rihanna play to much! Tell her to jump on the album!!!”
As we previously reported, Rihanna has provided multiple updates on the progress behind her upcoming ninth studio album. In April, she said: “If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away …There should be a show of growth, right?” Last month, Rihanna told ET she was “starting over,” giving the songs she had already been working on another look from a “new perspective.”
