Broad Street and Sibley Road will be closed for street and railroad repairs.

Lanes will close in downtown Augusta and the North Leg section this week. Construction crews plan paving work on Broad Street and railroad crossing repairs on Sibley Road.

Workers will pave inside lanes of the 900 block of Broad Street through Jan. 24, restoring diagonal parking that disappeared years ago. The inside lane of the 1000 block closes, too. Outside lanes on both blocks remain open.

CSX starts railroad crossing repairs on Sibley Road on  Jan. 28. The stretch between Woodcrest Drive and Ware Road shuts down completely. Woodcrest Drive connects to Woodcrest Apartments, so residents there will feel the impact.

Detour signs will guide motorists around the blocked section. A full closure is necessary for railroad work.
