Scott Kirby Brings Celebration of Americana Music to USC Aiken Jan. 22
Scott Kirby will perform “Main Street Souvenirs” at USC Aiken.

Scott Kirby will perform "Main Street Souvenirs" on Jan. 22 at the University of South Carolina Aiken Etherredge Center. The show features 150 years of American music and memory through live piano, storytelling, and film.
The performance brings classic Americana works by Stephen Foster, John Philip Sousa, and Scott Joplin to life. A video collage of archival images, photography, and watercolor paintings of the Great Plains accompanies the live music.
Audiences will see baseball games. Barbershops. Prairie churches and one-room schoolhouses, concerts in the park, and moments from life on Main Street fill the visual presentation. The watercolor paintings have been praised for their ability to "touch the soul of the heartland."
Kirby has served as musical director for the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, Missouri. He also directed the Rocky Mountain Ragtime and American Music Festival in Boulder, Colorado, and the San Juan Islands Ragtime Institute.
Tickets are $20 for the general public. Senior citizens, military, and USCA faculty and staff pay $15. Students pay $5.
Tickets may be purchased online at etherredgecenter.universitytickets.com or in person at the Etherredge Center Box Office, 340 Scholar Loop. For more information, visit the University of South Carolina Aiken Etherredge Center website.
