Augusta U. Women’s Track Squad Posts Top-10 Finishes in First Indoor Meet
The Augusta University women’s track and field team won several top-10 spots Saturday at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off.

The Augusta University women's track and field team won several top-10 spots Saturday at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off. Madison Thomas took third in the 5,000 meters. The Jaguars snagged five top-10 results in distance races at JDL Fast Track during their opening indoor meet.
Thomas clocked 17:49.24 in the 5,000 meters, leading the pack. Danielle Thayer crossed seventh at 18:31.71. Maria Biondolillo came in eighth at 19:05.37, Amelia Ogden grabbed ninth at 19:14.81, and Swaye Mohler completed the string with a 10th-place showing in 19:27.44.
In the 800 meters, Josabeth Graciano ran 5:15.54 for seventh, Caleigh Munro hit 5:19.12 to snag ninth, and Gabriella Burton finished 15th at 5:26.02.
Thanna Davis ran the quickest 400-meter dash for Augusta, taking 10th in the seeded section at 58.67 seconds. Ava Adams clocked 1:01.25 for 13th, and Janiya England posted 1:03.98 in her season opener.
Madison Mitchell ran 26.15 in the 200 meters, good for 17th among sprinters. Taneiha Bowman followed in 26.72, with Josalyn Branch also running the race.
Jamiya Reed cleared 1.44 meters in the high jump, placing 14th in her first college competition. Paige Justice also took part in jumping.
Division I and Division II programs filled the meet. Augusta will head back to Winston-Salem for 'Twas the Meet Before Christmas on Friday, Dec. 12.
