Russell Joel Brown will present "Home for the Holidays" at Paine College at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and 4 p.m. Dec. 6. The Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel show will be Brown's biggest to date with nearly 100 performers to take the stage.

"I am so excited about this show. It's hands-down the biggest show I've ever done," Brown said, according to Augusta Good News.

A mass choir and nine-piece band will perform. Hip hop, classical, R&B, country, and pop music fill the program.

An 11-foot Bunraku puppet dressed as the Grinch will appear in one number. Brown will operate it while 10 hip hop dancers perform alongside. The puppet honors his time touring with "The Lion King" musical.

Another song called "Precious Boy" was written by one of his castmates from the Disney tour. Angels will hover above Mary and Joseph during this number. Six representatives from different cultural groups will enter the space, announced by sentries carrying 9-foot banners. By the song's end, 12 panels of fabric will create a tableau honoring varied cultures.

Brown has put on numerous fundraising concerts over the years. More than 20 years have passed since he last produced a holiday concert.

Brown attended Morehouse College when Lester McCorn, Paine College president, was also a student there. They were acquainted in college but didn't get to know one another until McCorn took his current post.

Tickets are $35, $50, $75, or $100 VIP. Tickets can be purchased at Brown's website.
