Lil Wayne Sets 2025 Release for ‘Tha Carter VI’ Album
During a night at Miami’s LIV nightclub, Lil Wayne announced his plans for “Tha Carter VI” coming in 2025. This will be his first solo album since “Funeral” hit number one on the US Billboard 200 in 2020.
“It’s guaranteed,” Lil Wayne announced on Instagram during an interview with Mel Mitchell, a representative for AT&T.
The album’s first single “Kant Nobody,” which dropped last February features the late DMX’s voice. Warren G also produced a song called “All Alone” and NBA star Kevin Durant will make an appearance on a track as well.
Wayne got fans excited by releasing “Tha Fix Before Tha VI” mixtape last fall. This preview gave listeners a taste of what’s coming.
“Tha Carter” series has become legendary in hip-hop. Both the third and fourth albums were hits with critics and sold incredibly well. Previous “Tha Carter” albums featured big names like Jay-Z, Drake, and Kanye West.
The DMX feature on “Kant Nobody” honors the rap icon who passed away in 2021, bringing together hip-hop’s history and future.
Stay tuned for an exact release date.
