Liam Payne’s Final Days, an ABC News Special, will air tonight on Hulu. The world were stunned when it was announced that the One Direction star had fallen to his death at a hotel in Argentina. The final days of the 31-year-old will be looked at in the ABC News special that will begin streaming Thursday, October 24 on Hulu.
What To Expect From ‘Liam Payne’s Final Days’
Sure to be a heartbreaking special, Liam Payne’s Final Days could possibly answer some questions that One Direction fans have about the star’s death. Hulu describes the special as, “Drugs, a trashed hotel room, and a deadly fall. How One Direction’s Liam Payne tragically died. The boy band singer’s sudden death sparking renewed questions about the dark side of fame. How did the 31-year-old’s brilliant star fade so dramatically?”
So as far as what will be explored on the show, here’s what to expect. The special will be led by co-anchor of Nightline, Juju Chang. It will feature new interviews with people who were close to Liam. One of those interviews will be with former X-Factor contestant Mary Byrne, who will describe what it was like living with Liam and the other members of One Direction while filming the show in 2010.
Other interviews featured will be with social psychologist Dr. Azedeh Aalai, One Direction fan Natalie Barada, as well as ABC News contributors Chris Connelly, Kelley Carter, and Megan Ryt.
The Complicated Life Of Liam Payne
Before his death, and following breakup of One Direction in 2016, Liam had struggled with addiction. He had revealed that he had started drinking heavily by himself while on tour, and struggled with suicidal thoughts. Back in July of 2023, he shared that he had spent 100 days in rehab and was six months sober. Unfortunately, based on details revealed about Liam Payne’s final days, his sobriety was not long-lasting.
