Jeannie Mai Claims Jeezy Isn’t Complying With Their Divorce Terms
Jeannie Mai is reportedly pressuring her ex-husband, Jeezy, to fulfill the terms of their divorce agreement. The former couple finalized their divorce in June, roughly nine months after Jeezy filed in September 2023. During their 2.5-year marriage, Jeannie Mai and Jeezy welcomed a daughter, Monaco, who became a central issue in their divorce proceedings. At one point, Mai accused Jeezy of endangerment while he sought primary custody.
According to court documents cited by TMZ, Jeannie Mai claims Jeezy still owes her money and possessions as part of their settlement. This reportedly includes a lump sum of $500,000 in an interest-bearing account for Monaco, along with daycare costs. He was also supposed to transfer the titles of a 2021 Range Rover and a 2022 Ford Bronco to Jeannie. Additionally, he allegedly agreed to pay her rent from May through August.
Instead, according to TMZ, Jeezy has been avoiding Jeannie and has failed to meet these obligations. Mai claims he currently owes $4,000 for Monaco’s tuition and childcare, and she lacks access to the $500K account. Without the title transfers, she says she can’t insure or transport the vehicles from Atlanta to Los Angeles. Mai is also reportedly seeking $92,417.39 for unpaid rent.
Jeannie Mai has attempted to resolve the issue with Jeezy’s team but has had no success, as they allegedly stopped responding in July, per TMZ. Now, the TV host is asking the court to hold Jeezy in contempt and force him to comply with their agreement.
Jeezy filed for divorce in 2023, and abuse allegations surfaced during the legal battle, which he denied. “The allegations are not only false but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved,” he said. “This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous. It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play, and my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court-mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels.”
ET Online reported that Jeannie Mai and Jeezy first met when he appeared as a guest on her talk show, The Real. They were first seen publicly together in a photo shared on Malika Haqq’s Instagram in January 2019, shortly after Jeannie’s divorce from her first husband, Freddy Harteis, was finalized.
After the now-deleted post, Jeannie Mai spoke about their relationship on The Real, though she hesitated to define it, saying, “Jeezy and I hang out. He’s very special to me, so we don’t really have a label to define what it is we’re doing. We’re just having a good time together.” Later that year, a source confirmed to ET that they were a couple, and they made their relationship Instagram official in September 2019.
