Back-To-School Supply Giveaways In The CSRA
It doesn’t seem that long ago that kids were getting out of school for the summer. Now here we are, getting them ready to head back for another year. As the first day approaches, many programs and organizations host back-to-school supply giveaways to help families in the CSRA send their children back to school with the essentials.
This year looks a bit different, with some school systems opting for year-round school. The change means that back-to-school start dates are spread out more than in recent years. Here’s a look at those dates:

Back-To-School Supply Giveaways
Friday, July 19, 2024:
North Aiken Elementary will host its Goodbye Summer Block Party Back-To-School Bash from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 100 Bears Rock Road in Aiken. In addition to school supply giveaways, there will be a DJ, vendors, food, fun, and games. Get more info here.
Saturday, July 20, 2024:
The Guiding Path Enrichment Center will host its Third Annual Community Resource Expo and Bookbag Blessing Giveaway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Warren Road Community Center, 300 Warren Road in Augusta. Enjoy giveaways, networking, kids activities, and more. They will have over 300 bookbags filled with school supplies to give away. Get more event details here.
Augusta Worship Center is hosting its fifth annual “Backpack Blessings” project at 10 a.m. at 3840 Mike Padgett Highway, Augusta. Kids will receive school supplies such as backpacks, pens, and paper.
Sunday, July 21, 2024:
The Oasis Church Backpack Giveaway is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 2228 Highway 88 in Hephzibah. Kids must be present to receive backpacks and supplies.
Saturday, July 27, 2024:
The Annual Back 2 School Backpack Giveaway at Gough Lodge #419 is from 9 a.m. to noon at 261 Broad Street, Gough/Keysville, Georgia.
In Sardis, there will be a back-to-school supply giveaway next to Old Library from 9 a.m. until supplies are gone.
The Friendly Church of God In Christ Annual Back-To-School Supply Giveaway will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1115 Carrie Street in Augusta. School supplies will be given away while supplies last. Children must be present to receive school supplies. Get more details here.
RISE Augusta’s Back-To-School Bash is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hub, 631 Chafee Avenue in Augusta. In addition to free book bags stuffed with school supplies, attendees can enjoy games, food and drinks, a book fair, vision and blood pressure screening, and more.
In Waynesboro, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Back To School Giveaway will be at Davis Park.
Impact Church will host its Back 2 School Bash from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at North Harlem Elementary School, 360 West Trippe Street in Harlem. There will be backpacks filled with school supplies, along with free haircuts, inflatables, face painting, and food.
Sunday, July 28, 2024:
The Path Worship Center hosts its Back-To-School Party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4301 Wheeler Road in Martinez. Enjoy live entertainment, games, crafts, food and inflatables. There will be book bags and school supplies, free haircuts, and medical and dental screenings. You must register in advance by calling (706)736-6394 or emailing [email protected].
Crown HER Mentoring has partnered with 2nd Time Around Development Resource Center for their inaugural school supply giveaway. The fun-filled day includes games, food, face painting, music, a bounce house, and more. The event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1905 Gordon Highway in Augusta.
The YMCA hosts its back-to-school drive starting at 5 p.m. at 2340 Milledgeville Road in Augusta. The event includes free school supplies, food, games, and more.
Saturday, August 3, 2024:
Bethel AME Church and the A.H. Hall Fellowship Group have their annual back-to-school giveaway from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 623 Crawford Avenue in Augusta.
The Back 2 School Supply Giveaway will celebrate the new school year with free school supplies, free food and drinks and more. The event is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Eastview Community Center and Park, 644 Aiken Street in Augusta. Kids must be present to receive free supplies.
