Chris Brown Gets Stuck Suspended in Concert
While performing in New Jersey’s Prudential Center as part of his recently kicked-off 11:11 tour, Brown, 35, was gliding across the stage on a wire while performing his 2022 song “Under The Influence.” The Grammy winner came to a halt while performing the track, but fans in the audience seemed unaware at first as he kept singing.
After a few seconds, he looks off to the side and outstretches his arms a few times to signal for someone to help him out. Despite looking visibly upset, Brown continued the show without missing a note. Crew members are then seen bringing a ladder to where he remained frozen on the harness.
As he unbuckled himself from the harness, one staff member climbed up the ladder to offer help, but Brown didn’t seem like he welcomed it. He set himself free, climbed down a few steps, then jumped off the rest of the way to finish his performance. Walking behind one of the tour workers, Brown yells something in his direction, points at him, then faces the audience to finish the song.
Fans seeing Chris Brown’s reaction took to X (formerly Twitter) with mixed feelings about the way he handled the malfunction. One person wrote: “He has every right to be mad it could have been dangerous. No one bothered to get him while he was stuck for 3 songs, until he signalled to them & then when they came to get him they went in circles with the ladder twice before actually getting him. Yet he didn’t miss a note!” Another questioned, “We’re supposed to believe he’s a changed man that doesn’t have anger issues when he can’t even laugh off a technical difficulty?” A third suggested, “Yea he needs to take this out the show. Also, the ladder took me OUT [laughing emojis] Glad he’s cool though.” Added another, “He was ready to spazzzzzz!!! Body language on max PISSED [teary smiling emoji, person gesturing OK emoji].”
Meanwhile, one fan defended his reaction and commented, “He has every right to be mad it could have been dangerous. No one bothered to get him while he was stuck for 3 songs, until he signalled to them & then when they came to get him they went in circles with the ladder twice before actually getting him. Yet he didn’t miss a note!” A second applauded him and wrote, “Handled it very professionally and casually cursed out the stagehand [laughing emoji].” Added another fan: “Chris Brown can entertain anytime, anywhere and even when a malfunction is happening. He is amazing!” Another fan said, “chris brown got stuck in the air during 2 whole songs and he didn’t stop singing once, a true performer if you ask me. he was pissed but didn’t ruin the experience for anyone.”
