New Aiken Brewery – A Place For Food, Brews, And 4-Legged Friends
There’s a new Aiken brewery that welcomes families, friends, and 4-legged pals too. Good Girl Brewing Co. is a craft brewery and full-service restaurant that has been in the works for years.
Good Girl Brewing Co. is located at 880 Banks Mill Road SE in Aiken, South Carolina. This new Aiken brewery has been a project 5 years in the making. One of the owners, Andrew Phifer, told WRDW that COVID was one of the contributing factors in delaying the project, with the fluctuation of prices in construction materials being a major issue.
After Aiken Brewing Company closed last year, the Aiken area has been without a local brewery. Not only is Good Girl Brewing Co. a craft brewery, but it’s also a full-service restaurant.
The menu includes pimento cheese, pretzels with beer cheese, along with salads, burgers, and sandwiches. I can’t help but love the names given for some of the items, like “Kate The Great Dog” and “Princess Lily Dog.”
Inspiration Behind New Aiken Brewery
Another thing I love about this new brewery is the inspiration behind it. First, when you see the logo, you see a dog. And of course, as a dog lover, that immediately captured my interest. And the dog behind the logo is the family’s late dog, Kate.
Owner Rachel Phifer talked to WRDW about how dogs love life so much and are also great support. It led to the idea to memorialize and honor their “good girl.”
The new Aiken brewery hosted a soft opening for friends and family this past weekend and officially opened to the public on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
The hours of operation at Good Girl Brewing Co.:
- Tuesday – Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Closed on Mondays
At Good Girl Brewing Co. you can enjoy their outdoor seating area or their indoor space with the bar area. And yes, dogs are always welcome!
While I more than likely won’t bring my dogs along (they act crazy around other dogs), I can’t wait to give this new spot a try! And I’m not a beer drinker either, but this seems like a really cool new space where I’ll have a good chance of meeting lots of new fur friends. The fact that Aiken is so pet-friendly is one of the many reasons I love visiting!
