Harley-Davidson Of Augusta – A Look At The New Location
Timms Harley-Davidson of Augusta has been located on Belair Frontage Road for years. And it’s actually one of the first places I ever visited when I came to Augusta the very first time back in late 2016. But they’ve been working on a new building for a while now, and it’s finally open. The new location was constructed over on Mason McKnight Jr. Parkway, not too far from their old location.
Despite some hiccups during the construction process, the team at Timms Harley-Davidson of Augusta has officially moved into the new building as of about a week and a half ago. This past Saturday, I finally had a chance to check out the new spot.
New Harley-Davidson Of Augusta
I’d been watching as the building was being constructed over the course of many months. I could see the building as I was driving down I-20 and was anxious to see what it would look like when it was done.
My fiancé, David, and I frequently visit Timms, so we’ve been talking to the staff and checking in on the updates. We knew they had quite a few delays along the way and they were all ready to get the big move over with. The first weekend they were open, we didn’t get a chance to head over to the new place. But this past weekend we made it a point to visit with our friends.
First of all, the new building is HUGE! And absolutely beautiful. It looks similar in some ways to other Harley-Davidson shops we’ve been to. When we pulled in, there was a guy working on painting the Harley-Davidson emblem on the side of the building. We also noticed that they have a lot more space and parking at the new location too.
They had some new bikes outside, but then we stepped inside. The huge, open showroom looks incredible. It’s very spacious and quite the change from the previous store. On there were some desks and bikes in the main part of the floor. To the right, there’s a large garage door that leads to the shop. Along the right side next to that, there’s an area with motorcycle parts.
Toward the back, there are some offices with glass windows for the sales and finance team. And in the back to the left, there’s your motor clothes and more! There’s even a second level that has some motorcycles, but also has more office space, a conference room, and even a classroom for when they start riding courses. Also on the second level, there’s a balcony area.
What We Know About The New Location
While we were visiting the new Harley-Davidson of Augusta, we chatted with our friend and store manager, Josh. He gave us a tour of the new store. He did mention there are still some things they are working on, including some displays that their merchandising team was going to come in this week to finish up.
Also, there with be a table with built-in touch screens to build out a motorcycle, which will then show on a large mounted TV above the table. But that’s not the only cool technology upgrade. Josh mentioned that over in the motor clothes section, they would be getting a special mirror that will allow you to select various pieces and “try on” items to see what they will look like.
The parking lot has enough space that they will be hosting riding courses on-site too. And they are talking about building a small stage for live music so they can get back to hosting Bike Nights on location as well. The plan for the balcony area is potentially for some VIP fun.
We also talked to their marketing director, Vanessa, and the parts manager, Andrea. They are definitely tired from trying to get the store moved, but they are really excited to see what’s ahead for the beautiful new store.
Even though they still have some things to finish up, the new Harley-Davidson of Augusta looks amazing. This is going to be a great spot for all bikers in the area and those passing through. It not only will be a great spot to find a new motorcycle or get some work done, but there’s potential for a lot of fun events too.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly recommend you stop by!
