Early Voting Underway in South Carolina for Democratic Primary
Early voting for the first Democratic Presidential Primary in the nation is underway in South Carolina. You had to be registered to vote by January 4 in order to participate.
The Democratic Presidential Primary will be held in the Palmetto state February 3. Early voting began today and will run through Friday, February 2.
Early voting locations, including the Aiken County Board of Voter Registration on University Parkway in Aiken, will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. during the early voting period.
Voters must have a photo ID at check-in.
Absentee ballots must be turned in by mail or in-person by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, February 3. Ballots that are mailed should be done so no later than January 27 to ensure delivery on time.
Early Voting for South Carolina’s Republican Primary
South Carolina’s Republican Presidential Primary will be held February 24. Early voting will be held from February 12-22.
You must be registered by January 25 in order to vote in the Republican Presidential Primary.

Photo I.D.
- Make sure you have one of the following Photo IDs: SC Driver’s License, SC DMV ID Card, SC Voter Registration Card with Photos, Federal Military ID, or US Passport.
- If you do not have one of the Photo ID’s, get a free one from the DMV or your county elections office.
- If you forget to bring your Photo ID to the polling place, you can vote a provisional ballot that will count only if you show your Photo ID to the county elections office before the certification of the election
Early Voting for Georgia’s Presidential Preference Primary
- Early voting for Georgia’s Presidential Preference Primary will be held from February 19-March 8.
- You must be registered to vote by February 12 in Georgia to be eligible to vote in the Primary.
- Georgia’s Presidential Preference Primary will be held March 12.
- You can request an absentee ballot by visiting Georgia’s My Voter Page, www.mvp.sos.ga.gov. The deadline to request one is March 1.
- Saturday in-person early voting will be held February 24 and March 2. Some Georgia counties may also offer Sunday in-person early voting on February 25 and March 3, but it is not required.
