It’s Less Than 3 Months Til Christmas-Holy Cow
We are coming up on what truly is the most wonderful time of the year. It’s less than 3 months til Christmas! I’m so ready it’s not even funny. But the big question is, when should you start the decorating? I for one usually have all of my Christmas decorations out by November 1st. Why so early you ask? I’m one who likes to have it all down the day after Christmas and get life back to normal. Plus, I’m off work that week and it’s a great time to get it all back in the garage.
What is it about Christmas?
First and foremost for me, it’s to celebrate the birth of Jesus. That is the reason for Christmas. Next for me comes the feeling that the season brings. People are happier, smiling, and in an overall great mood. I love listening to Christmas music. And yes, I may or may not have played a few Christmas songs over the weekend. Also, I love coming home at night and lighting up the house with the Christmas Lights. And I know that for a lot of people, Christmas can be a sad time of the year for many reasons. Losing a loved one, money, the stress of the season, not getting it all done in time, and being alone. For those who need help with depression at Christmas, there are free resources available like Mental Health America.
Christmas Traditions
The traditions that are created and carried on during the holidays are normally those that are handed down from generation to generation. In my family, my mother started a tradition more than 30 years ago where each Child and or family has an apple ornaments with your name on it. When it’s your time in the rotation, which goes from oldest to youngest, you come up and talk about your year and talk about what you are thankful for. This is a tradition that even though both parents are gone, we still do this at our family gathering every year!

Less Than 3 Months Til Christmas!
So while we are not that far away, it will be here fast. Hobby Lobby, Michaels and all the big box stores have had the decorations out for awhile, so why not. Here is a small taste of what I do for Christmas decorating! Let me be the first this year to wish you a Very Merry Christmas.
