Megan Thee Stallion Enrolls At Flamin’ Hot University In Frito Lay Partnership
Class is in session! Megan Thee Stallion has partnered up with Frito Lay. It is the brand behind Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Together, they will launch Flamin’ Hot University, or “FU” for short. In a new video, the Grammy winner and HBCU graduate is the face of “FU.” It will sell exclusive merchandise that will go towards a scholarship of up to $150,000 at Texas Southern University (TSU). The HBCU is Megan’s alma mater and is based in her home city of Houston, TX.
The exclusive collection includes: a Stallion Varsity Jacket, Hot Girl Club Sweater, Flamin’ Hot Tennis Skirt, Flamin’ Hot Nameplate, Flamin’ Hot Jersey, and Flamin’ Hot shorts. The collection was created by Melody Ehsani.
In addition to the scholarship fund for TSU, Flamin’ Hot will contribute $100,000 to the Pete and Thomas Foundation. The Pete and Thomas Foundation is a nonprofit organization Megan launched last year in honor of her parents.
“I had an absolute blast bringing Flamin’ Hot University to life and tapping into my love for food and fashion. But more than anything, I’m extremely proud that we were able to uplift TSU students, establish an impactful scholarship fund, support the Pete and Thomas Foundation, and promote the importance of education,” Megan said in a statement.
Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing at Frito-Lay, also said, “Everyone deserves to be their Flamin’ Hot self, but student loans can create a significant burden on college graduates — especially at HBCUs where students graduate with 19% more debt than those at non-HBCUs1. The Flamin’ Hot University scholarship fund at TSU was designed to ease some of the financial pressures student loans bring so graduates can focus on unleashing their hottest potential.”
Megan’s Past Partnership With Flamin’ Hot Cheetos
This is not the first time Megan mixed business with pleasure (aka her love for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos). The Grammy-winning rapper worked with the chips brand last year in their Super Bowl commercial. The commercial was to help promote the products Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Flamin’ Hot Doritos. For the commercial, she created the song “Flamin’ Hotties.”
