Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers – A Review
Earlier this month, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opened in North Augusta. Since they opened at 505 East Martintown Road, it hasn’t been unusual to see a line of cars out of the parking lot. We actually planned to check them out over a week ago, but it looked so busy we decided against it. But on Friday, I was heading back toward the house and needed to grab something for lunch. So, I called David, who was at home because of a rain day at work. We decided to give Freddy’s in North Augusta another shot.
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers – A Review
I’ll start by saying, we have been to a Freddy’s before. They have a location in McDonough, Georgia, which isn’t too far from where we used to live. But we’d only been once or twice. On Friday, it was about 1:30 or so when we got there. The parking lot was pretty full, and the drive-thru line was long, but not out in the road! We found a parking spot right away and headed inside.
The first thing I thought was… it’s pretty small in here. There aren’t a ton of tables. And even though the parking lot was full, there wasn’t a line at the register. We were able to walk right up and order. I told the cashier what I wanted, and then had to run back out to the truck for something. By the time I came back inside and went to fix my drink, they were already calling our order number.
So I will say, the service was really quick! Also, the staff seemed very friendly as well. They welcomed people as they came in, and even came around to offer to help clear trash off tables.
The Food
I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. The food came out quickly, and it was hot and fresh. If you’re looking for a big, juicy burger… you might be disappointed. The hamburger patties are very thin. As for the bacon, it had a decent amount on the burger. And just the right amount of cheese. It had a great flavor as well- definitely seasoned just right! The fries are the shoestring fries, so they’re very thin and crispy. I did have to add a little salt to my fries, but other than that, they were good. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the super thin fries. I prefer thicker cut fries.
Overall, the food was good. It is a bit pricey, but that seems to be the norm with most fast food these days.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the time or the appetite to grab any frozen custard on Friday. But the plan is to return and grab some soon! It definitely looked delicious.
