Bunk Bed Recall For Units Sold Online
Walker Edison Furniture has issued a recall on their twin over twin bunk beds. The recall was issued on May 4, 2023. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there is a risk that the wooden slats supporting the bunk beds can break while in use. This risk could lead to falls and impact hazards. The bunk bed recall affects over 120,000 units.
These wooden bunk beds were sold in various colors and finishes. Each model has a ladder down the side. You can locate the model name on the inside of the bed rail or on the footboard.
The company says consumers should stop using the bunk beds immediately and contact Walker Edison Furniture to receive a free repair kit. The kit has 12 wooden slats and new instructions. So far, the company has received reports of 14 incidents involving the bunk beds slats breaking.
The bunk bed recall affects units sold online on Walmart.com, Amazon.com, HomeDepot.com, Overstock.com, and Wayfair.com. Sales were made between February 2010 and February 2022.
