50 Cent Facing Mediation In $1B Lawsuit From Former Drug Kingpin
50 Cent has reached mediation for the $1 billion lawsuit filed against him by an ex-drug lord over his Power television series. According to AllHipHop, the Power creator will face the former drug kingpin Corey “Ghost” Holland Sr. in May for a mediation conference.
In 2021, Holland filed a lawsuit that alleged 50 Cent and fellow executive producer Courtney Kemp. Holland believes they used his life as a basis for the popular STARZ television show. Kemp’s father reportedly had a relationship with Holland that dated back to the ’90s. Court documents per the publication reveal that Holland mailed a copy of his CD to Kemp’s father in 2007. The CD features a song about his experiences as a drug lord. Holland claims that 50 Cent and Courtney used his CD as content for the seven seasons of Power and the first two seasons of the spinoff, Power Book II: Ghost.
Holland has also accused 50 of intimidation. He claims that the Queens mogul showed up to his home twice in either July or August of 2021.

“A few days later 50 Cent shows up about a half mile from plaintiff home, and plaintiff sees the same truck that pulled into his driveway at the 50 Cent event,” the legal documents read per AllHipHop. “So plaintiff realizes it was either defendant Jackson or his entourage who decided to ‘pull up.'”
“When you looking for a confrontation your honor, this is what people say, nowadays. Up to this point, plaintiff had ignored a lot of ‘subliminal attacks’ on him online, but now 50 Cent is bringing the drama right to plaintiff front yard.”
“So plaintiff responded to 50 Cent the way any normal person would respond to a possible threat, plaintiff prepared himself for whatever was go happen.”
Holland claimed that 50’s entourage was armed and the message was “clear” to him that 50 wanted to confront him.
“Plaintiff wanted to know why 50 Cent came to his home, but plaintiff couldn’t get past 50 Cent security,” the documents continued. “The men in the truck returned, repeated the same intimidation tactic and left, but this time they appeared to be armed.”
“So plaintiff family ARM themselves, cause defendant Jackson, came back to plaintiff neighborhood for a second time, but once again security protected him.”
“Plaintiff again tried to get to him and ask why is he coming to his home and neighborhood, but security prevented that, it’s clear your Honor, he was seeking a confrontation and came very close to getting what he came for.”
The last episode of Power aired in 2020. 50 Cent’s legal team says since Holland filed his lawsuit in April 2021, his claim is barred by the one-year statute of limitations under New York law.
