For all you folks who enjoy holiday specials, it is time to rejoice! Mariah Carey's season is fast approaching and the self-proclaimed Queen of Christmas announced a new two-hour holiday special called Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to All!

Featuring performances of all of Carey's holiday hits (not just "All I Want for Christmas is You"), the primetime show will air on CBS and Paramount+ on Tuesday, December 20. CBS Mornings' Gayle King first announced the news of the production, which will be filmed at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

This isn't the only holiday treat the songstress, 52, is giving fans. As we previously reported, Carey has a new children's book (released November 1) titled The Christmas Princess, which features the theme of bullying. Taking real-life experiences of when she was growing up in Long Island, Carey used those tough but valuable life lessons as inspiration in her fairy tale book.

In Mariah’s The Christmas Princess, there isn’t any Prince Charming coming in to save Little Mariah from the blonde-haired bullies. “Her music rescues her,” Carey says, bringing up another parallel between the book and her real life. “It’s not a Prince Charming who comes in. She saves her own day.”

Carey is returning to Madison Square Garden on December 13 and 16 this year for her newly announced show, "Merry Christmas to All." The first night of the show sold out in an hour. "I do need to take it in," she said. "I'm doing a new couple of sections, things fans have been asking for that I haven't performed yet."

As the reigning Queen of Christmas over the years thanks to her 1994 record-breaking hit "All I Want for Christmas is You," the singer says writing music is "the greater gift."

"I see myself as a songwriter first," she said. "...Because it's like hearing music and then being able to articulate it and create that. And I also love writing and being able to use it as a personal form of healing and expression."
