Do you eat breakfast daily? If not, you may want to start!

Eating Breakfast and Your Career

There's a new study, by OnePoll, that shows starting your day with proper nutrition could help not only with your health, but your career too!

The study looked at 2,000 Americans, half who ate breakfast, half who didn't, and found the breakfast eaters were more likely to be promoted at their job.

We've always heard that breakfast was the most important meal of the day from a health perspective, because it has many great benefits.  But now we learn it can be beneficial in other areas of your life as well!

Eating Breakfast and Your Overall Life

The study also revealed eating breakfast could help your relationship status too! Breakfast eaters were more likely to be married (60%).

Other benefits were noted in the study as well- overall happiness, life satisfaction and health. Breakfast eaters did report higher life satisfaction, tend to be more optimistic and are more satisfied with their relationships. And it only makes sense that breakfast eaters are more likely to call themselves morning people.

Other benefits of eating breakfast, according to this survey, include:

  • helping you feel more prepared
  • more confidence
  • more energy (not just at the beginning of the day)

Eating Breakfast... what to eat?

As you can see, eating breakfast is important, for many reasons! What do you eat for breakfast?  Unfortunately, there's no set answer.  It could be as simple as a piece of whole grain toast.  Something is better than nothing! Whole grains and proteins are recommended, versus a sugar-filled breakfast. Of course, it will all depend on your morning routine!
