Your Chocolate Cravings May Be Diet Related!
Sure, we all crave sweets from time to time! But if you’re someone with an immense chocolate craving, you may be lacking a key vitamin…Dr. Susan Yanovski, a co-director at the government’s Office of Obesity Research, has linked constant chocolate cravings to a lack of Magnesium in your diet.
A little chocolate every now and then isn’t a big deal, but when you can’t seem to shake that craving, it may be time to look into your Magnesium levels. Dark chocolate is especially known for its high levels of Magnesium, but it is also high in calories and other unwanted additives so it’s not a great long-term method for your intake.
According to Eat This, Not That, 80% of Americans don’t get the adequate amount of Magnesium they require, which can lead to weakened immune systems and other health issues. Some healthier alternatives for upping your Magnesium intake are: fish, nuts, spinach, beans, avocados, and more.
