Animal videos are one of my biggest weaknesses in life. Hours spent on Youtube & Reddit watching funny or cute videos of dogs, cats, birds, whatever – it’s all time well spent – and science says that it’s actually good for our health! More on that below, but first…

Although there are too many to list, here are a few honorable mentions on my list of favorite animal videos:

Laughing Foxes

Little Boy Comforting His Dog After Surgery

Cat Talking To Himself In The Mirror

Now, back to the science…

Psychologists say that watching funny, cute animal videos boots positive emotions in humans. A psychologist at the University of California says, “Watching cute content online is easy and accessible, and has been shown to neutralize negative emotions such as fear, anger and disappointment.”

Watching animal videos not only boosts your mood – it can also make you more productive! A research psychologist told the Washington Post, “When you experience positive emotion, it lets you do things you can’t do as well in a negative mood state.”

So, there you have it! We should all be watching more animal videos! Another solid recommendation: this video of a puppy cuddling with a baby deer.
