St. Louis Rapper Huey Known For ‘Pop, Lock and Drop It’ Fatally Shot
On Thursday (June 25), St. Louis rapper Huey, known for his hit record “Pop, Lock and Drop It” was fatally shot. He was 32-years-old, as Fox 2 News reports.
The shooting took place just before 11:00 p.m. in Kinloch. Huey, whose given name is Lawrence Franks, was transported to a local hospital after suffering a gunshot wound.
Shortly after the rapper’s arrival, he was pronounced dead, according to police. After further investigation, law enforcement determined that another victim of the same shooting arrived at the Ferguson Police Department with a gunshot wound; that person was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries, and is expected to survive.
Huey Is known for his hit debut single “Pop, Lock and Drop It,” which was released in 2006.

He was originally signed to Jive Records. Many of his fans have offered tributes and condolences to the artist’s family. According to Huey’s Instagram page, the rapper was looking forward to shooting a music video on Saturday for his new single.

The St. Louis rapper leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter. No arrests have been made in the shooting. This is a developing story.
