France Government Issues Statement Saying Cocaine Isn’t Coronavirus Cure
Coronavirus has dominated the news cycle, but so have funny memes about things that make you immune to the highly contagious condition.
Enter the government of France.
In response to online memes saying cocaine is a COVID-19 cure, France’s Ministry of Solidarity and Health shared the tweet below which translates to, “No, cocaine does NOT protect against #COVID-19. It is an addictive drug causing serious adverse effects and harmful to the health of people.”
Per the U.K.’s Independent, France currently has 1,402 confirmed cases of coronavirus, and 30 people have died. As a precaution, the French government has temporarily banned public gatherings of 1,000 people or more.
